Basics for the novice cook

Sweet potatoes

sweet potatoes Sweet potatoes are similar in potential to our ordinary common or garden potatoes (chips, mash, etc), but bring a flavour that is sweeter and slightly more exotic, and certainly a more appealing colour.

I especially like to use them peeled and cut into large (3-4cm) chunks in my casseroles, and in particular in my lamb tagine.
